What's included

Everything this service covers

Weekly, fortnightly or monthly visits

Pruning, mowing and hedge trimming, adjusted to the season

Seasonal feeding and pest inspection, with treatment where needed

Irrigation checks and adjustments

Seasonal schedule changes for feeding, pruning and irrigation runtimes

Visit reporting, with format and frequency stated in your agreement

And what it does not cover

Scope gaps are where landscaping quotes turn into arguments. These items are genuinely outside this service, so you can price them properly rather than discover them halfway through.

  • Redesign, replanting and seasonal colour rotations. Maintenance keeps a garden as it is; changing it is a design job, and rotations are quoted separately before they are done.
  • Full irrigation replacement. Routine checks, adjustments and small repairs are covered; replacing a failed system is quoted separately.
  • Removal of large trees, anything needing craneage, and any removal requiring a municipality permit.
  • Treatments that fall outside routine garden care and require specialist licensed application.
How it works

The process, step by step

  1. 1

    Assessment

We survey your garden and agree a maintenance schedule matched to your planting.

  2. 2

    Schedule

Fixed visit days agreed in writing, so you know when to expect each visit.

  3. 3

    Service

Each visit covers the tasks listed in your agreement, and the agreement should state whether an irrigation and health check is part of every visit.

  4. 4

    Report

Photos and notes on what was done, in the format and at the frequency your agreement states.

Options & materials

Choose the right spec for your plot

OptionBest forWhat to know
Weekly plan Manicured gardens and hedges For formal gardens with clipped hedges, lawns and flowering beds that show neglect within days. Covers trimming, feeding and irrigation checks, adjusted for the season: feeding is paused for the hottest months and pruning is kept light in summer.
Fortnightly plan Mixed villa planting Suits mixed villa planting. Keeps beds and hedges tidy, gives pest and irrigation issues a chance of being caught early, and includes fertilising in the growing season rather than through summer.
Monthly plan Low-maintenance desert gardens For drought-tolerant planting that mostly needs pruning, weed control and system checks. Honest advice: if your garden needs more, we will say so.
Local know-how

Dubai gardens fail quietly, then suddenly

A failed irrigation emitter in June is one of the quickest ways to lose a Dubai garden. By the time a hedge shows stress, roots are already damaged. A zone-by-zone irrigation check on each visit is the way to catch it early, and it should be written into the scope of any maintenance agreement.

Pest pressure follows the calendar: whitefly and spider mite in the heat, caterpillars after the winter rains. Early, targeted treatment beats blanket spraying, and any treatment should be logged with what was applied and where, so ask for that record in the agreement.

Winter is planting season here. October and November visits assess beds for seasonal colour rotations, which are quoted separately, and for soil conditioning, so your garden can peak when you actually want to sit outside.

Honest pricing

What moves the price

No two Dubai plots are the same, so we never quote blind. These are the four things that genuinely change the number on your quote.

Garden size and planting density

A large lawn with clipped hedges needs more time than a desert palette on drip irrigation.

Visit frequency

Weekly, fortnightly and monthly plans are priced differently, and the right frequency depends on the planting.

What each visit includes

Irrigation checks, feeding, pest inspection and green-waste removal should be listed in the agreement so quotes can be compared like for like. Ask every provider for the same list.

Seasonal extras

Major mulching, winter colour, replanting and one-off repairs are quoted separately before they happen.

Every quote is fixed, itemised and in writing, with materials and quantities listed. It states what is included and what is excluded, and authority and engineer fees appear as separate lines, so you can compare it line by line with any other quote.

Questions

Maintenance: your questions answered

How much does garden maintenance cost in Dubai?
The price depends on garden size, planting density, visit frequency and whether irrigation management is included. A clipped formal garden with a lawn needs more visits than a drought-tolerant desert palette. After the assessment visit your written quote sets out the price and lists what is included and excluded, and it is worth asking that extras are quoted before they happen. See our landscaping pricing guide for what moves maintenance quotes.
Do you maintain gardens you didn't install?
Yes. We start with an assessment visit where we map your irrigation, identify stressed plants and flag anything that needs one-off repair before the regular schedule begins.
What is included in a typical visit?
Your agreement lists the tasks for each visit. A typical scope covers pruning and trimming, lawn mowing and edging, weed control, bed tidying, feeding, pest inspection with treatment where needed, and an irrigation check with runtime adjustments for the season. Feeding and pruning follow the season: standard fertilising is best stopped by the end of May and pruning limited to light work through summer, as our summer garden care guide explains. Reporting after each visit, such as photos and notes, is set out in the agreement.
Can I ask who will attend each visit?
You can ask, and it is worth asking any maintenance provider. Continuity matters because the people working on a garden learn its history: which hedge was replaced, which zone runs long, which corner the dog uses. Have the visit days, who attends and how each visit is recorded stated in the agreement, so you know what to expect.
Is there a contract or can I cancel anytime?
Your written maintenance quote sets out the plan, the price, the term and how the agreement can be ended, so ask to see those before you commit. Seasonal extras such as major mulching or winter colour rotations are quoted separately, and should be approved in writing before they are done rather than added to an invoice unannounced.
What should I do with my garden before a summer trip?
Many Dubai residents travel in July and August, the months a garden can least survive neglect. Before you go, have the controller runtimes raised for peak heat, check that the controller holds its programme through a power cut, flush the drip lines, top up mulch and move potted plants into shade. Most importantly, arrange for someone to check the irrigation weekly while you are away, because one failed valve can cost a hedge line within days.
When is the best time to start a maintenance plan?
Ideally at handover of a new garden, or in April and May before the heat arrives, so irrigation schedules and soil are set up before summer stress begins. October is the other natural starting point, because it opens the main planting season when tired beds can be replanted. Starting mid-summer still works, but the first visits focus on stabilising the garden rather than improving it.
