What's included

Everything this service covers

Drip and pop-up sprinkler systems

Smart timers and moisture sensors

Fountain and pond installation

System audits and repairs

Water-efficient zoning

Seasonal schedule programming

And what it does not cover

Scope gaps are where landscaping quotes turn into arguments. These items are genuinely outside this service, so you can price them properly rather than discover them halfway through.

  • DEWA connection work and meter changes. Those go through DEWA and their appointed contractors, not through us.
  • Treated sewage effluent (TSE) connections. TSE can be used for landscape irrigation on some sites under Dubai Municipality rules, which is a separate application to the authority and most relevant on commercial and common-area sites. Confirm your site's position with the authority or your facilities team.
  • Pool circulation, filtration and plant rooms. Different trade, different equipment.
  • Your water bill. We can reduce consumption through zoning and scheduling, but we do not control DEWA tariffs.
How it works

The process, step by step

  1. 1

    Audit

We map your garden zones, check existing lines and identify pressure or coverage issues.

  2. 2

    Design

A zone plan is created matching plant types to the right watering method and schedule.

  3. 3

    Install

Pipes, valves, emitters and controllers are installed and tested zone by zone.

  4. 4

    Programme

We set seasonal schedules and show you how to adjust for summer and winter.

Options & materials

OptionBest forWhat to know
Drip lines Beds, hedges and planters Water is delivered at the root zone with far less evaporation loss than overhead spray. The backbone of a water-efficient Dubai garden.
Pop-up sprinklers Natural lawns Recessed heads that sit flush when off. Pressure-regulated heads are worth specifying because supply pressure can vary between communities.
Smart controllers Systems with several zones Wi-Fi timers that adjust runtimes by season, and many models can skip cycles after rain. You can control zones from your phone.
Local know-how

Water is money in Dubai

Irrigation is a major variable in what a Dubai garden costs to run. According to US EPA WaterSense, drip and other microirrigation uses 20 to 50 percent less water than conventional sprinklers, and a saving on that scale shows up directly on your DEWA bill.

Mains water on a DEWA supply is hard, and the dissolved minerals build up as scale that can clog emitters over time. Our designs specify pressure-compensating emitters and a filter at every valve, and lines should be flushed on a regular schedule, which keeps the flow even for longer. If your community irrigates with treated sewage effluent or borehole water instead, salt levels are far higher, and the emitter and filter choices change with them.

Plants need considerably more water in summer than in winter, so a system needs separate seasonal schedules: higher runtimes before the heat arrives and lower ones in the cooler months. Schedules are set at handover and can be revisited under a maintenance agreement, which helps avoid stress in July and waterlogging in January.

Honest pricing

What moves the price

No two Dubai plots are the same, so we never quote blind. These are the four things that genuinely change the number on your quote.

Zones and pipe runs

More zones, longer pipe runs and hard-to-reach beds increase materials and labour.

New build or retrofit

A system laid before planting is simpler than one fitted around established beds, paving and turf. Trenching, breaking out surfaces and making good add scope.

Controller and sensors

A basic timer and a smart controller with rain and moisture sensors sit at different price points. Ask what each controller can and cannot do before comparing quotes.

Water supply and pressure

Hard mains water calls for filtration and pressure-compensating emitters, and pressure varies between communities. New connections and meter changes go through DEWA and are not part of the irrigation price.

Every quote is fixed, itemised and in writing, with materials and quantities listed. It states what is included and what is excluded, and authority and engineer fees appear as separate lines, so you can compare it line by line with any other quote.

Questions

Irrigation: your questions answered

Can you retrofit irrigation into an existing garden?
Yes, in most cases. A retrofit can usually be run along bed edges and under mulch rather than trenching through lawns, which limits disruption to existing planting. How long it takes depends on the number of zones, access and whether lawn lines need to cross paving, and your written quote sets the timeline. You keep your garden; you just stop dragging a hose around it.
Do smart irrigation systems save water?
Yes. According to US EPA WaterSense, drip and other microirrigation uses 20 to 50 percent less water than conventional sprinklers, and smart controllers can add further savings by matching runtimes to the season and skipping cycles when they are not needed. Outdoor watering is a large part of a Dubai villa's water use, so at the audit your DEWA bills give a starting point for estimating a likely saving.
What does an irrigation system cost to install?
Scope drives the number: number of zones, pipe runs, whether you need pop-up sprinklers for a lawn, and whether you want a smart Wi-Fi controller. A retrofit into an existing garden is usually simpler than a full new build. After the audit you receive a written quote itemised by zone, so you can phase the work if you prefer. See our landscaping pricing guide for what moves irrigation quotes.
How often should the system be serviced?
Twice a year is the sensible minimum in Dubai: once before summer to increase runtimes and flush lines, and once in autumn to dial back. Filters need cleaning more often because of sediment and scale in the supply. A garden maintenance agreement can include an irrigation check on each visit, as set out in the agreement, which helps catch small leaks before they become dead hedges.
Can you add a fountain or water feature to an existing garden?
Yes. Self-contained features with their own reservoir and pump need no connection to your irrigation at all, just a protected power point. Larger ponds and cascades are planned with waterproofing and filtration. We will also tell you honestly what a feature costs to run and clean before you commit to one.
